In the recent topics, we posted something
about Over Optimization Penalization,
if you really read the articles and watched the video embedded on those posts;
definitely you’ll have an idea on what will be the next target once Google
updates its algorithm.
Well, recently another major change in
the search results happened, just like when the time of Panda Update, although
we are looking forward to it (to prepare our sites) its still a bit nerve
wrecking right, anticipating what will happen and if you have administer the
correct optimization on your website.
So okay, going back to the topic, Google
announced that they will launch another search update, and it’s not Panda where
websites with low quality pages are the target, this time, it’s about content.
Yes, content, websites performing spam in their contents, this includes keyword
stuffing, link schemes, cloaking and duplicate contents (I mean here really duplicate,
word by word, phrase by phrase, everything).
Here’s what Google Webmaster Central
stated:
“In
the next few days, we’re launching an important algorithm change targeted at
web spam. The change will decrease rankings for sites that we believe are
violating Google’s quality guidelines. This algorithm represents another step
in our efforts to reduce web spam and promote high quality content.”
Just to come clean, since Matt Cutts
stated or rather warned almost all SEO and Search Engine Optimization Company
about the update Google will be implementing, “the over optimization penalty” . Yes and no. It is the update he
was talking about, but it’s different from the “over-optimization statement”
wherein it’s target is the SEO.
He clarified that the update will target
content, thus using another name to illustrate the up-coming update is much
better since what they were launching will target spam contents and not an over
optimized website.
Countless debate arise on what will be
the name of the new update, thus to cut it out they release the name Penguin.
